We primary school students also benefit from it. When I was in the third grade, the state exempted primary school students and junior high school students from tuition and miscellaneous fees. In the past, this policy could only be enjoyed by children in poor mountainous areas, so that they could pay less and reduce the burden on their families. But later, as more and more people realized the benefits of paying taxes, more and more people paid taxes. In 2005, the state decided to waive all tuition and miscellaneous fees for nine-year compulsory education, but where did these tuition and miscellaneous fees come from? Taxes collected by the state, of course. In the past, children in rural schools and children from poor families in cities often fought over tuition fees, but they still couldn't get together, and some had to drop out of school. Now it's great, tuition and fees are free, and no one of my peers will drop out of school again.
The purpose of taxation is not only for education, but also for the maintenance and construction of the city.
When I was a child, I often saw cleaners waving big brooms in the traffic, in the dust and in the scorching sun. Now, the Hefei municipal government has used the tax collected to buy some sprinklers and sweepers. Almost every morning, you can see the huge body of the sprinkler running in the middle of the road. While sprinkling water around, it sang cheerful songs and walked slowly through the traffic. This happy song flows into people's hearts. On the way to Yufeng Flower Market, you can often see a sanitation worker sitting in a sweeping car like a car sweeping the floor bit by bit. There are two dustpans and a rotating broom in front of the sweeper. All the dirty things fall into the dustpans, and there is a clean road behind.
With the rapid progress of demolition and relocation in Hefei in recent years, the city has taken on a new look, with high-rise buildings rising from the ground and wide and smooth roads, all of which are attributed to the investment of the municipal government. For example, the Jinzhai Road Viaduct in Hefei, with a total length of 7,000 meters and a speed of 80 kilometers per hour, is the main traffic channel connecting high-tech zones, administrative areas and urban areas. It used to take more than 40 minutes to get from downtown to the development zone, but now it only takes 9 minutes. This bridge, like Hefei, is developing and rising rapidly. Isn't this spectacular viaduct the biggest benefit of tax collection for the people? Such examples are really endless.
Taxes are really good for us, but some people try their best to avoid paying that little tax. If I meet these people, I will definitely persuade them.
Taxes are taken from the people and used by the people. As long as everyone pays taxes consciously, I believe that taxes can bring us more returns.
