Qu's background information

Qu was born in 1937, in the countryside of Feidong County, Anhui Province. When I was a child, I did some farm work at home and studied in a private school for several months. I spent my primary and secondary school days in Nanjing. Different from ordinary children, they start to go to primary school from the fourth grade. 1953 In September, Qu was admitted to Nanjing No.1 Middle School, where he spent six years in junior high school. Qu loves literature from primary school to middle school and hopes to become a writer and engage in literary creation in the future. The teacher who taught literature in high school once encouraged Qu. However, in the last year of high school, Qu made excellent achievements in history class, which attracted the attention of teachers. In this way, when filling in the college entrance examination volunteers, Qu made the history major his first choice. 1September, 959, entered the history department of Beijing Normal University. Starting this year, the history major will be changed from a four-year program to a five-year program. These five years laid a good foundation for Qu to engage in history teaching and research later. Because I succumbed to reading some classical novels in primary school and reading all kinds of classical literature in high school, I preferred the ancient history of China and the history of Chinese historiography in college. The history of Chinese historiography is a new course offered by Mr. Bai Shouyi. His lecture has a bright theoretical color, so it is very attractive to Qu. In addition, Qu also collected Zhao Guangxian's History of the Pre-Qin Dynasty and He Ziquan's Study on the History of the Three Kingdoms. These gentlemen taught me a lesson that Qu will never forget.

1963 10, in the first semester of grade five in Qulindong University, the State Planning Commission issued a document to encourage fresh graduates to apply for postgraduate courses. After repeated consideration, Qu finally decided to apply for a postgraduate degree in history in China under the guidance of Mr. Bai Shouyi.

At that time, applying for graduate students had to take six courses, one of which was Chinese, and I had to answer questions about Chinese knowledge and write a composition. There are two essay topics, one is "Why scientists must pay attention to language cultivation" and the other is "Looking forward to China science". Choose any topic, and the latter topic can be written in combination with your major. Qu chose Prospect of China Science and added a subtitle "On the Rise of China Historiography". The main purpose of the composition is: China's historiography has always been developed, while the research on the history of Chinese historiography is relatively backward; The discussion on the research object and task of history since 196 1 shows that the rise of history specialty in China is of great significance for studying and understanding China's historical heritage. Later, Mr. Bai Shouyi told Qu that his composition got high marks in the local examination area. Qu regarded Mr. Wang's words as an inspiration to him. From then on, Qu was prepared to embark on the road of China's historiography. From September, 65438 to September, 0964, I began to study as a graduate student. The first course is "Comrade Mao Zedong's Theory on Criticizing and Inheriting Historical Heritage". This is a discussion based on repeated reading of Mao Zedong's relevant works, and I personally put forward my own views, and then write a summary paper. During this period, he also explored the evaluation criteria of Historical Records and Hanshu, and paid attention to the methodology of comparative study of the two historical books. It is believed that the comparison and evaluation of historical view should be different from the comparison and evaluation of compilation view, and the two should not be confused or compared.

1967 After graduation, the "Cultural Revolution" has begun, and Qu was assigned to work in Tongliao Teachers College (now Inner Mongolia University for Nationalities) in Inner Mongolia, mainly as a teacher of ancient history in China, which lasted until 13. Papers on Chinese historiography have been published since 1978.

1980, Mr. Bai founded the Institute of History of Beijing Normal University. The following year, he was transferred back to his alma mater, the Institute of History. Until the death of Mr. Bai in 2000, Qu had been working under the direct guidance of Mr. Bai.
